On Wednesday, July 24th, there was an incident involving a cat, a music stand, and a ~110 year old violin. The outcome was not good for the instrument (the cat and the music stand are fine). Not to name names (don't worry Eleanor, I won't tell anyone)...

Here's the thing. I have a busted violin that's going to cost a whole lot to repair (estimated $800) and I really don't feel comfortable asking for donations, but some of the kind and wonderful people out in the internet have suggested that I do this. I will, but with the following caveats:

1) Rather than donate: BUY something. I still get the money, but you get something (physical) out of it.

2) If you absolutely MUST donate and not ask for anything in return, know this: my darling sainted mother, Ma Johnstone, has offered to match the donations, up to the cost of the repair.
